STEVE GADD HAS BEEN SUPPORTING JAPANESE VOCALS AS WELL.

There are so many Japanese musicians who had strong collaboration with Steve Gadd, however, as for vocalists, a little bit limited.

Akiko Yano : Popular in worldwide as for joining YMO worldwide tour.

She had a really multi-talented and so called “distinctive”. No other musicians could do like her. Following is “HOME SWEET HOME (峠のわが家）”(1986)

Kimiko Ito: She is so called “authentic” jazz vocalist.

She released “A Touch Of Love” in 1986 with Michael Brecker (ts), Terumasa Hino (tp), Eddie Gomez (b), Steve Gadd (ds), Masahiko Satoh (p), Tsunehide Matsuki (g), and strings.

In 1989, they performed “EAST MEETS WEST” project at BOTTOM LINE, NY. with Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez and Masahiko Satoh. It is AWESOME !!

Then, one more, Toshiki Kadomatsu.

He is not a typical jazz vocalist… Anyway very cool !!
