MANHATTAN TRANSFER LIVE IN JAPAN

Manhattan Transfer has visited Japan so often, especially after 2000.

The recent one was in 2018, Tokyo Jazz. (I could not get a ticket. Too late… Pity.)

The highlighted one is in 1986, “THE VOCALESE LIVE In JAPAN”. It was recorded on Feb.20 and 21, 1986 at Nakano Sun-Plaza, Tokyo. (It looked like that they are much familiar with Nakano Sun Plaza…)

For me, “VOCALESE” (1985) is the peak and completed after vocalese try in “EXTENSIONS”(1979). — Birdland is most favorite even though…

Tim Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel and Sheryl Bentyne, the golden members!

For reference, original member was Laurel Masse, before Sheryl Bentyne chaged in 1979.

And quite sadly Tim Hauser passed away in 2014, and after that Trist Curless joined.
