WE ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE NICE RENDEZVOUS – SADAO WATANABE-

In addition to the previous “FILL UP THE NIGHT”, there was the second collaboration with Ralph MacDonald which was “RENDEZVOUS” (recorded in Feb-Mar, 1984 in New York)

Sadao Watanabe (as), Steve Gadd (ds), Marcus Miller (b), Richard Tee (key), Ralph MacDonald (per), Eric Gale (g), William Eaton (arr), special guest, Roberta Flack (vo)

Roberta Flack was joined in the 3 tunes, “If I’m Still Around Tomorrow”, “Here’s to Love”, “I’m The One”.

And then, also they performed RENDEZVOUS TOUR IN JAPAN.

Different members are again, Marcus Miller(album) to Will Lee (tour) (b) !!, and Rob Mounsey (syn)(add in the tour).

(For reference to Will Lee- Steve Gadd fans, just we can wait for the later album, “EARTH STEP” in 1993.)

I think “RENDEZVOUS” is the second peak of SADAO WATANABE fusion world, in the next to “HOW’S EVERYTHING” with Dave Grusin.
