Jazz fans know that;
- Charlie Parker died on Mar.12, 1955 at the age of 34.
- Bossa Nova music became very popular in USA from around 1962 (with the great contribution of Stan Gets and so on)
Then, what would you think of a hypothesis in fiction story that “If there is a record titled 「Charlie Parker plays Bossa Nova」
Actually it is a work of Haruki Murakami (I am not sure if it was translated in English and already published. If there is, please try to find it.)
Of course there is no meaning to talk about “IF” in historical issue or non-fiction field, however, it should be interesting in fiction field.
Would you accept hypothesis positively, if Charlie Parker lived longer and got interest in Bossa Nova music ??
Actually Haruki Murakami looked positive in his own hypothesis. Of course that works was constructed complicatedly in Haruki’s style to get enchanted strongly.
