BILL EVANS LIVE IN JAPAN ONLY 4 TIMES

Bill Evans is, probably, one of the top jazz musicians who is strongly loved by Japanese fans.

It is due to his outstanding lyrical piano touch.

“Waltz for Debby” is one of the most requested tune at Jazz Cafe/ Kissa long time ago.

However, it is a little bit surprising that he had only 4 times tour to Japan.

1st in Jan.,1973 with Eddie Gomez (b) and Marty Morell (ds)

2nd in Mar.,1974 with Eddie Gomez (b) and Marty Morell (ds)

3rd in Jan.,1976 with Eddie Gomez (b) and Elliott Gigmand (ds)

4th in Sep.,1978 with Mark Johnson (b) and Philly Jo Jones (ds)

Of course it has nothing to do with how many times to Japan, but his music has been staying in Japanese fan in any time. Thank you.
