TOO YOUNG TO DIE!, BERNARD WRIGHT ON MAY 19,2022

It is too sad to listen to the saddest news of Bernard Wright’s passing away at the age of 58 due to traffic accident.

First time I heard about his name is on SWING JOURNAL Feb.1980 article, introducing new star.

It was with the interview just before his trip to Japan as a member of GRP ALL STARS.

At that time he was just 16 years age. So cute !! On there, he explained so passionately how he was excited to come to Japan !!

At that time the members announced were, Dave Grusin (key), Dave Valentin (fl), Tom Brown (tp), Bernard Wright (key), Marcus Miller (b), Buddy Williams (ds), Roger Skitero (perc),

and special guest, Sadao Watanabe !! (that was why I got a special interest).

There is a official recording, but it looks like Don Grusin was replaced by Bernard Wight.

He had strong collaboration with Marcus Miller, and he visited Japan as his member in Jun.1996.
