I was confused I were in jazz club near Berklee College Of Music !!
(Of course I have never been there..)
Here at Cafe Cotton Club (03-3207-3369) in Takadanobaba, Shinjuku today on Jun.20, there was a special session called “SEIKO SUMMER JAZZ CAMP GRADUATES LIVE IN TOKYO“.
Seiko Summer Jazz Camp is like a summer school with some of instructors invited from USA.
It was started in 6 years ago, however, due to COVID 19, 5th and 6th (this year) were for remote class. Then, there was a plan of special session for graduates for live. Very fantastic !!
Today’s members;
Shogo Hamada (ds), Hina Oikawa (as), Kota Kaihori (p) and Riku Takahashi (b).
2 sessions with these members, then in the jam session, Takeshi Ohbayashi (p and tp) joined as a special guest !! Wao !! He is an instructor of SSJC.
As talked by Takeshi Obayasi, “FUTURE OF JAZZ IN JAPAN SHOULD BE BRIGHT“, thanks to all related persons’ special effort !!
For reference, such kind of special sessions will be continuous !! Very nice news !!
Of course in the next year and on, hope it would be operated as usual !!
