IT IS STRANGE THAT TRAIN THROUGH MELAKA IS NOT SO CONVENIENT.
Therefore, I took a train from Penang (Butterworth) to Kuala Lumpur, but from KL to Melaka by a bus. Also from Melaka to Singapore, by a bus. It takes around 4 hours.
(Long time ago I had an experience to visit from Singapore to Melaka on business trip for one day trip. At that time I went there by a company car. The driver asked strongly to come back to Singapore before getting dark to be afraid of bandits! Long time ago…)
After arriving in Singapore, immediately, I thought I need a meal. Extremely hungry.
Today my idea is Katon Area which is the most popular place for Peranakan in Singapore.
And a dish is decided to be Laksa.
I enjoyed it in Penang which is called “Assam Laksa”, Sour and spicy taste.
In Singapore, I tried Katon Laksa. Strong taste of fish soup with coconuts milk.
Here, it is interesting that noodle is cut in small pieces and eat them with spoon, not chopsticks!!
After enjoying Laksa, as usual I walked around Katon area.
In Melaka, Jalan Tun TAN CHENG LOCK, I feel it is rather historic place, legendary place.
But here in Katon area, I feel more present and alive.
What is the difference ?
I stopped by in a café. Coffee is always nice to concentrate on thinking !!
