WELCOME TO OLYMPUS, BY OLYMPUS -TOKYO JAZZ CAFE WALKS ⑦

When we enter cafe OLYMPUS, there is a heavy welcome by JBL speaker, OLYMPUS.

Cafe OLYMPUS was open in 2009. Very roughly, Jazz cafes in Japan are divided into two groups. One is TRADITIONAL, and the other is NEW. Olympus is clearly in the NEW group. Entrance is with automatic door. (It is the first time for me when go to Jazz cafe!) Inside the cafe, all the interiors are fresh and clean, we feel as if we were in the lobby of the cool hotel. (actually located on the first floor in the hotel).

However, jazz itself in the cafe is THE TRADITIONAL !!

MILES DAVIS, JOHN COLTRANE, MJQ……..overwhelming heavy sounds of all the jazz giants made me almost freeze !!

This is a kind of “OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE”.

Maybe the master’s intention is that “to keep the cafe until interiors get well older” Of course the music should keep as it is !!

Of, there is another NEW one. Lunch curry rice is very nice !!
