世の中にはごく稀に「その言葉があればもう何も要らない！」と言えるようなことがあります。どうもそういったストレートな言葉は関西の方からが多いような気が何となくします。。。

I used to stay in Osaka(Kansai) in my college students days, and moved to Tokyo(Kanto) since then. It is quite unfortunate that only quite a few times I had a chance to go to Osaka in these more than 30 years.

私は大学時代に大阪にいました。卒業後東京に移りそれ以降在東京です。30年以上、極めて遺憾ながら大阪に行くことがかなり少ない機会しかありませんでした。

Several years ago, I got a chance . Even 40 years ago, more or less, I did not go there sooooo frequently to Jazz cafe, WHAT’S NEW. Totally several times ?? Many times alone just to have a cup of coffee, or sometimes together with friends to have some glasses of bourbon.Anyway, just it. 35 years later, I wanted to visit. Frankly speaking I wondered “Still there is ????” YES, I could find it !! I remember where there is, in much complicatead area where there are so many small restaurants are gathered in 大阪駅前第二ビルB2.

数年前、ようやくその機会が訪れました。ジャズ喫茶WHAT’S NEWにどうしても行きたくなりました。30年ー40年前だってそんなに頻繁に行ったわけではありません。数回くらいでしょうか？多くが一人でコーヒー飲みに、時々友人と集まってウイスキーをボトルキープ、そんな感じです。「まだやってもらっているのだろうか？」という疑念を惑わせながら。

いやあ、見慣れた店のサインが現れたときは非常に安堵しました。大阪駅前第二ビル地下2階。多くの店が密集しているところです。

“GOOD AFTERNOON!!”

“WELCOME IN !!”

Well in mind, soft and friendly voice welcomed me. That voice brought me back to 35 years ago so smoothly. Then, the next;

“Did we see here before ???“

YES. No more necessary. Actually I got only 2 hours there.During those two hours were like in dream or what can I say ?

「こんにちは」

「いらっしゃい！」

35年前と全く変わらない、柔らかくも人懐っこいあの声に出迎えられます。瞬時に35年前に彦戻してもらえます。そしてその次；

「あれっ！、前、来てもろうてたんちゃう？？」

その日、WHAT’S NEWで私に許された時間は2時間だけでした。その2時間は「夢見心地」と言えばいいのでしょうか・・・
