YOUNG RISING BIRD, MISAKI UMEI, AND MOST RELIABLE BASSIST,TAKASHI SUGAWA, PLAYED TOGETHER !!

The first player at NO ROOM FOR SQUARES 2nd Year Anniversary, the 3rd day, was Misaki UMEI (p) （梅井美咲）and Takashi SUGAWA (b) （須川崇志）duo.

Misaki UMEI was born in 2002. Still a student at music collage !!

3 years ago she attended BLUE GIANTS NIGHT 2018 at BLUE NOTE TOKYO, and got a chance to play with Hiromi UEHARA !! Quite similar type with Hiromi UEHARA in terms of joy of playing !!

Takashi SUGAWA was born in 1982. Already he had a lot of experience to play with jazz giants in Japan like Masabumi KIKUCHI, Terumasa HINO, Kosuke MINE…. And definitely one of the most reliable bassist in Japan. He plays cello as well.

Takashi SUGAWA’s current main project is BANKSIA TRIO with Masaki HAYASHI (p) and Shun ISHIWAKA (ds).

And just reference on today on Sep.23rd, he is now playing at BLUE NOTE TOKYO to celebrate John Coltrane’s birthday called Re:JOHN COLTRANE !!

About 45 minutes session, they played mainly Umei’s original. She had a strong background in classical music. In rather calm, gentle and sophisticated atmosphere, the 3rd day of celebration session was started !!
