JACO+GADD= YOUNG AND FINE

After a remarkable success of HEAVY WEATHER (1977) , Weather Report fan were waiting for the next album, which was MR.GONE. One announcement was that “STEVE GADD has participated”.

The later half of 70s was in really fusion boom heat up. Steve Gadd became very famous in STUFF (“STUFF” in 1976 and “MORE STUFF” in 1977).

Joint play of Jaco Pastorius and Steve Gadd !!, here came !!!

Sales of Mr.Gone was not bad….but general reputation…….too much experimental……

“Only YOUNG AND FINE is good”. Oh, terrible!!!

I like YOUNG AND FINE as well. However, it is pity that Steve Gadd is not so like Steve Gadd !! Even Steve Gadd at that time, it was not possible to show STEVE GADD in WEATHER REPORT ????
