So many jazz fan were waiting for the days of Tokyo Jazz in 2020 in May. Then, they were all cancelled due to COVID 19. However, it should be happy to us that Live stream were coordinated specially.
Of course it is just my individual comments that I think HIROMI UEHARA and MIHO HAZAMA are two tops in Japan Jazz succeeding in overseas. Can say, GREAT VIGOR !!
Hiromi Uehara: Trio project performance with Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips was so powerful and incredible. Then, the sudden unfortunate incident forced that project stop. Oh my god ! After that she coordinated solo, duo with several artists, Edmar Castaneda, Akiko Yano and Kazunori Kumagai (tap dance). All those trial were in top level !!
Miho Hazama is jazz composer and leader of LARGE ENSEMBLE, m-unit.
Definitely she is in the mainstream of the large ensemble, like Gil Evans, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Maria Schneider. She has been in so active to collaborate with Yosuke Yamashita, Junko Onishi and others and others. She got a contract of the chief conductor of Dutch Radio big band.
