Once again, Jazz cafe, EAGLE (Yotsuya, Shinjuku) provides us wide and updated jazz scene. Thanks a lot.
Honestly speaking, sometimes when I talk about jazz, it is either USA, EUROPE or JAPAN. Of course no, no, it should be nowadays global.
Today, luckily I encountered Ibrahim Maalouf at EAGLE.
Ibrahim Maalouf— Born in 1980, in Beirut, Lebanon. (moved to Paris at childhood)
KALTHOUM– released in 2016
with;
Ibrahim Maalouf (trumpet)
Larry Grenadier (bass)
Clarence Penn (drums)
Mark Turner (sax)
Frank Woeste (piano)
There is strong vibes of MID EAST, in addition of high technique.
Every global culture should have its standard on the surface and middle, however, there should be individual local essence in the CORE. It is interesting to look for the core.
Oh, toooooo wide Jazz world is !!
Therefore, there exists Jazz cafe, as Mr.Masahiro Goto, owner of EAGLE, tells that “Jazz cafe can be a bridge between MUSIC and PEOPLE WANT TO LISTEN TO JAZZ.
Thank you very much.
