At the Jazz cafe, we listen record/CD to be played. However, at “BASIE (Jazz cafe)”, records to be performed like as instruments.

Basie is located in Ichinoseki, IWATE prefecture. 420km far from Tokyo! Even it is far from major cities in Japan, so many visitors had been rushing there to listen to BASIE sounds. (tentatively now it is closed)

COOL SOUNDS I WANT TO PERFORM HERE.

This is the major reason for many guests to visit there. In order to be cool, Mr.Sugawara, master of Basie, sticks every effort in details in his audio settings. Only with records.Only by himself.

After new playing of this documentary films at many theaters, frankly speaking, I was surprised to see review on SNS or website that there are so many feedback from every following group;

1. Core fans of Jazz and Basie — easily imaginable
2. Jazz lovers in widely — probably the main customers
3. Just being accompanied by 1 or 2.

Oh what a surprising is that so many from above the 3rd group who said “Impressed how COOL the master is”” Definitely this cinema developed a lot with new Jazz Kissa lovers !!

And for the 2nd group people, it is happy to be sure being COOL to visit Jazz cafe !!
