Jabuticaba is duo unit of Mikiko Nagatake (p) and Nami Kano (as, ss).
The album “Jabuticaba” was released in Feb.2021. After that they provided jazz club live performance so often.
By the way, DUO is very unique unit.
Even when we see the history of jazz, there have been so many duo units performances, however, we do not see long term such a combination, often. Chick Corea and Gary Burton ? Yes, it is another beauty, definitely.
Usually trio unit and more is regular unit. Why ??
Jabuticaba unit was born at end of 2017, the first tour was coordinated in April 2019.
They continued tour in Japan still regularly, and one day was on Nov.7,2021 at SALT PEANUTS.
We hope it could be continued so long, we hope another albums came and came.
Jabuticaba is a name of a plant of which origin in south America. The fruits are born directly from a trunk. It is interesting that “trunk” is 幹（幹子＝Mikiko), “fruits” is 実（奈美＝Nami)……
