I watched documentary cinema about Hong Kong cinema director, Ann Hui, the other day.
Sorry to say I was not familiar about Ann Hui. I just wanted to watch it because I like Hong Kong very much, and I learned that music director is Yoshihide Otomo, (who has established strong character in jazz scene. He became extremely major for some of the TV drama music like “Ama-Chan”. But his origin is so aggressive. )
Due to many years business relationship with Hong Kong, I got so many friends in Hong Kong. It is one of the most important fortune for me. However, it is not possible to exchange honest opinion with them in these years under “serious change” in Hong Kong.
I was wondering so long if such a memory should be closed ??????
Then, after watching this cinema, I realized such an emotion is still keeping. No need to worry !! My Hong Kong is still rolling inside me.
Ann Hui confirmed that “Continuously I should keep on shooting cinemas FOR HONG KONG.”
Throughout the whole her carrier as a director, she never fell into commercialism. She has been perpetuating her principle, pride and LOVE TO HONG KONG, which is the same as those which my friends have !!

アジア映画、香港映画に詳しい方はよくご存じなのでしょうが、そうでもなければなかなかアン・ホイ監督のお名前は広くはないかもしれません。私自身、掲題のドキュメンタリー映画を知って早速行こうとしたのは、ひとえに大友良英さんが音楽担当されたこと、及び長年の猛烈な香港愛からでした。
本日の14:15の開演では大友さんがゲストでトークショーを行ってもらい、アン・ホイ監督とのお仕事、香港映画との関わりについて存分に語っていただきました。
さて、私の香港愛です。仕事での関わりが長くあって、有名人ではなくても私にも大勢の「心の友」がいます。昨今の情勢から、何を考えこれから何をしていきたいのか、とても本音で聞くことはできず、蓋が閉じられてしまったらどうしようか、ずっと重い懸念を感じてきていました。
その蓋は、本日、気持ちよく（幾分の涙もありましたが・・）開けられ、数年前までの「心」が蘇ることがはっきり確認できました。彼らはたぶんすべてが、アンホイ監督の描く人物像に重なる。自分たちの香港的な生き様にプライドを持ち、ただコマーシャルな生き方におもねず、香港愛を貫くように思っています。
「これからも香港のために映画を撮り続ける」
アンホイ監督のこの気概を胸に、彼らとの繋がりを再構築していきたいと思っています。
早く彼らと飲茶のテーブルを囲みたい！！
