SEE CARLA BLEY AND MIKIKO NAGATAKE TOGETHER AT NUTTY

I asked owner of NUTTY to play “WRONG KEY DONKEY” in “SONGS WITH LEGS (1994)” because we heard that MIKIKO NAGATAKE (p) had learned this tune at NUTTY when she was an university student near NUTTY.

Long time ago, when there was a start of Jazz kissa boom in early 60s, we heard that younger musicians were commuting to jazz kissa to learn through USA musicians records.

(they said, all day long !! just leaving a little at lunch time to take quick noodle……. oh my god !!)

I thought it was a story long time ago, however, much impressed that STILL somebody have been doing the same !!! This is the jazz kissa’s great works.

We were listening to Carla Bley, “WRONG KEY DONKEY”, and closing eyes to see Carla and Mikiko playing together there !!

For your reference, Carla Bley were performing at Jarasum Jazz Festival in 2018 !!
